Secondary education aims to continue the general education started in the elementary level and to provide adequate instructions in preparation for college education or initial employment. High school develops students to learn independently as well as cooperatively. Instead of listening to a teacher lecture, students are provided handouts with concept notes and learning activities which they study and perform. The role of teachers, thus, shifts from being a sage on the stage to a guide on the side.
